about the presenter:

Steve Nally’s journey in the whiskey industry began in Loretto, where he joined Maker’s Mark Distillery in 1972. Over the next three decades, he immersed himself in every aspect of the distillery’s operations, eventually assuming the role of master distiller in 1988.

 

In 2003, Nally bid farewell to Maker’s Mark and embarked on a new chapter by establishing his own distilling consultancy firm. During this period, he laid the groundwork for Wyoming Whiskey, which was launched in 2009. Nally meticulously built the brand from the ground up and played a pivotal role in developing its inaugural product line.

 

In 2014, Nally returned to Kentucky and joined Bardstown Bourbon Company as its esteemed employee number one, and continues to serve as master distiller to this day. Nally’s exceptional skill set proved invaluable to the company, propelling it to remarkable growth since 2014. Notably, in 2018, Bardstown Bourbon introduced its own award-winning brand, solidifying its position as the seventh-largest distiller of bourbon, rye, and American whiskeys in the United States. Nally remains actively involved in product development and serves as the brand’s face as it expands its presence across the country. Steve and his wife, Donna Nally, are one of only two husband-and-wife duos ever inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame. Donna is a highly respected figure in her own right, known for her crucial role in establishing the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Kentucky Bourbon Festival.  [link]
