We’re delighted to welcome back one of our all-time favorite Japanese distilleries to the Southern California Whiskey Club! Remember when we met back in February 2018 at The Daily Pint? Well, we’re doing it all over again with Seiichi Fukano, 7th Generation Managing Director of Fukano Distillery! We’re thrilled to recreate the magic with an evening that’s equal parts fun and enlightening — complete with captivating stories, distillery insights, and a deep dive into the artistry behind their extraordinary spirits. We’ll be showcasing archival pours alongside their latest releases, giving you a front-row seat to the distillery’s evolution. And once the tasting wraps up, we’d love for you to stay for dinner to support The Phoenix for hosting us. The price of the event includes a signed bottle of Fukano Select, a $90 value! This will be a very special evening and we hope that you will join us for it.

about the distillery
Founded in 1823, Fukano Distillery is located in Hitoyoshi City, of the Kumamoto Prefecture of Japan on the island of Kyushu. Hitoyoshi is surrounded by mountains and is known for its pure water and nature. Shigeruriku Fukano is the fifth generation of his family to run the distillery. They use a combination of malted and un-malted rice to make their whisky in a pot still. It is a Whisky that is distilled, matured, and bottled in Japan. [link]
