about the distillery
Willett Distillery, a family-owned and operated distillery in Bardstown, was founded in 1936. Over the years, the distillery has grown steadily, incorporating the family’s values of southern hospitality, craftsmanship, and compassion into its products and services. The company has remained under family ownership and operation at the same location since its inception. For its new distilling operation, Willett has three operating stills: a column still, a “doubler,” and a pot still. They also have eight warehouses on-site, each holding 5000–6000 barrels of whiskey for aging. Between 1984 and 2012, the company was known as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers (KBD). Over the years, Willett has bottled whiskeys that range from two years of aging maturity to 28 years. [link]
