The Balvenie has lined up an exceptional selection of Speyside whiskies for us to explore at Idyllwild Tavern, including the brand new Balvenie 12 Home Malt as part of the 1931 Collection. One of Scotland’s few distilleries to maintain its own traditional malting floor, The Balvenie continues to practice its celebrated “Rare Crafts” on site, from growing and malting barley, to copper smithing, and cooperage.
This special Balvenie 12 Home Malt is made with 100% home-malted barley, and we’re thrilled to be the first club to experience its launch. Every paid guest will receive a limited-edition bottle of Balvenie 12 Home Malt and a Balvenie gift bag to take home. [link]

about the distillery:
Balvenie distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Dufftown, Scotland. Is owned by William Grant & Sons. Balvenie makes whisky in the traditional batch process of the production of single malt. The use of locally grown barley is preferred, and it is floor-malted where possible. Of the 120+ distilleries in Scotland, Balvenie is one of only seven distilleries with its own malting floor. And the only distillery that still practices all 5 of the Rare Crafts all on site (growing barley, malting barley, onsite copper smith, onsite cooperage, and The Balvenie Malt Master, David C Stewart and Kelsey McKechnie, newly appointed Malt Master).
